… a relaxed neighborhood cafe in the heart of Thornton-le-Dale. A place where you can slow down; enjoy good food and good company. Our menu is rooted in the simplicity of fresh, seasonal ingredients and inspired by global flavours- from vibrant salads and homemade soups to sourdough sandwiches, bakes and sharing boards. We serve good coffee, handpicked wines and craft beers, with cheese and charcuterie evenings on Friday & Saturdays. Whether you’re popping in for a quiet moment, meeting friends or simply exploring the village, we hope Café Bouchère feels like a little escape.
Who
we are
We’re Rosie and Oscar - the couple behind Café Bouchère. I am from North Yorkshire, and Oscar is from Sweden. We met in the Austrian Alps and spent ten years living and working there, shaped by a deep love of good food, community and of course the impeccable standards of Austrian gastronomy.
We moved back to my home county with dreams of creating something that would bring together the things that matter most to us: fresh, seasonal food, warm hospitality and a relaxed welcoming space for locals and visitors alike.
